Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed on Tuesday expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Khandaker Muniruzzaman, a prominent journalist, columnist and acting editor of the daily Sangbad.
In a condolence message, the IGP said, “Khandaker Muniruzzaman was a pioneer of neutral and fearless journalism. He started journalism when he was a student of Dhaka University. In his long career as a professional journalist, he became himself an unique institution. His death caused an irreparable loss to the country's journalism."
The IGP prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed his deepest sympathy to the bereaved family membersKhandaker Muniruzzaman (72) died at Mugda General Hospital in the capital at 7:20 am on Tuesday due to post-Covid-19 complications.
