Bashundhara City Shopping Mall, the country’s largest shopping centre and a concern of Bashundhara Group, reopens today.
The shopping mall had been closed since March 26 following an order of the government to ensure social distancing norms amid coronavirus outbreak.Although the government allowed reopening of the shopping malls ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr, the leading business conglomerate, Bashundhara Group, kept it shut considering the issue of public safety.
The management of the mega shopping mall has made thorough preparation to ensure health guidelines to protect shopkeepers, employees and customers in the given circumstances.
Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Abdul Alim, senior executive director (accounts and finance) and in-charge of Bashundhara City Development Ltd (BCDL), pointed out various measures, including erection of disinfection chambers and use of sanitizers at every entrance.
He requested all concerned to enter the shopping mall wearing face masks and gloves. On the eve of the reopening, the management of the shopping mall arranged a special prayer participated by shopkeepers and employees.
Executive director (mechanical) Mahbub Morshed was present.
