Dr Kamal for coordinated national effort in preventing coronavirus

Gano Forum President and Jatiya Oikya Front leader Dr Kamal Hossain has urged Prime Minister to take coordinated national effort in preventing coronavirus, says media report.   

In a statement on Monday, Dr Kamal Hossain said, “Many people of the country have lost their lives due to slow decision making and lack of coordination in implementing decision in checking coronavirus transmission. Nearly 50,000 people have been infected with COVID-19. Country’s 17 crore people are now in unknown fear. Experts are apprehending that the number of infection will increase further and the coronavirus situation will turn into severe. It is possible to overcome the economic recession slowly but it is important to save people’s lives now.”  

Dr Kamal said, “Lack of implementation of lockdown, lax law enforcement, irresponsible comments of ministers concerned, allowing workers and commoners to come to Dhaka from villages and also to go to villages from Dhaka, delay in taking right decision at the right time, lack of coordination in implementation of decision, anomaly and mismanagement in health sector push our lives and livelihoods in dire consequences.”
