The results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations will be published on May 31.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will announce the results from her official residence Ganabhaban in the capital at 10:00am on that day through video conference.

The education ministry confirmed this information on Thursday, according to media report.

Mentionable, the SSC and its equivalent examinations were held in February this year. The results were supposed to be released in the first week of this month if there was normal situation. But publication of the results faced uncertainty due to outbreak of coronavirus.

The results of SSC and its equivalent exams of this year, however, will be published online. Candidates will get their results staying at home.

According to our correspondent, the results will not be sent to educational institutions to avoid gatherings amid the coronavirus outbreak across the country.

To avail the results via SMS, students will have to register for the service by typing “SSCfirst three letters of board’s nameroll number2020” and send it to 16222 from any mobile phone at a cost of Tk 2.55.

They can also collect the results from the website of their respective education boards. Educational institutions across the country have been ordered to keep their offices closed on the day of the results to combat spread of the coronavirus.

At least 2.4 million students appeared at SSC and equivalent exams from Feb 3 to 27 at over 3,500 centres from around 29,000 educational institutions across the country.
