JK Rowling recovers at home after struggling with all coronavirus symptoms

JK Rowling has opened up about suffering from coronavirus symptoms and admitted she has fully recovered at home.

The famous Harry Potter author did not know whether she had contracted the virus as she hadn't been tested, but was certain she had "all symptoms".

She announced the news on her Twitter account, urging her fans to watch a helpful video posted by a doctor at Queens Hospital.

The star also revealed she had followed her husband Dr Neil Murray's advice to aid her respiratory pain.

Joanne pleaded: "Please watch this doc from Queens Hospital explain how to relieve respiratory symptoms."
The writer went on to explain she has "fully recovered" and the doctors' techniques came in useful.

She added: "For last 2 weeks I've had all symptoms of C19 (tho haven't been tested) & did this on doc husband's advice. I'm fully recovered & technique helped a lot."

Fans poured in with support for the award-winning writer, with one saying: "Glad you are fully recovered!" as the author responded: "Thanks x You stay safe!"
Another wrote: "I'm so glad you're feeling better!! The fact that none of us on Twitter could even tell proves how strong you are."

And a third sweetly added: "Jo, I’m happy to know you are well. I confess I got scared when I started to read this tweet. Good to hear you are fine now."

The awareness video Jo shared to her Twitter included expert advice from a UK doctor.
He shared that it's important to have a breathing technique if diagnosed with the infection.

The routine includes taking five deep breaths, and each time to hold your breath for five seconds.
On the sixth deep breath, take it in and do a big cough while covering your mouth, and repeat twice.

Following this, lay flat on the bed with a pillow in front of you, taking slightly deeper breaths for the next 10 minutes.
