Thirty one suspected coronavirus or COVID-19 infected people were kept in home quarantine in 24 hours until Thursday night in Jashore district.
Civil Surgeon Dr Sheikh Abu Shahin said one of them was home quarantined in Abhaynagar, two in Chaugachha, 18 in Sadar, two in Keshabpur and eight in Manirampur upazila.So far, no COVID-19 infected patient was detected in the district and a total of 1,415 people were released from quarantine, he said.
“The returnees from the foreign countries are kept in quarantine and action will be taken if they defy the government directive, “he added.
Meanwhile, two more people tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of cases in the country to 56, the government announced onThursday.
The global death toll from coronavirus jumped to 53,190 on Friday.
