Youth dies at isolation centre in Sylhet

A 16-year-old girl died at Sylhet Shaheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital’s isolation centre on Tuesday afternoon, minutes after she was admitted.

She died at around 2:30pm, according to media report, quoting Dr Premananda Mandal, civil surgeon of Sylhet.

Dr Himangshu Lal Roy, deputy director of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, said, she was admitted into the isolation centre with several critical symptoms, not related to coronavirus

."Minutes later, she died without giving us any opportunirt to provide her treatment," he added.

"There were no travel or contact history with foreign returnees," he said.

He said they will send samples to IEDCR for coronavirus test if needed.
