Offer prayers at home on Shab-e-Meraj: Islamic Foundation

The Islamic Foundation on Sunday urged all Muslims to offer prayer on Shab-e-Meraj at home to curb the spread of deadly coronavirus.

The holy Shab-e-Meraj will be observed across the country on Sunday night.

On the night of 26th Rajab every year, Muslims observe Shab-e-Meraj when Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) embarked on a special journey to meet Allah.

The Muslim devotees offer special prayers all the night in mosques and homes seeking blessings of Allah for the welfare of the entire nation and the Muslim Ummah.

The Islamic Foundation called upon everyone to perform their night prayers at home this year.

Every year on the occasion of Shab-e-Meraj, a Milad and Waz-Mahfil is organised by the Islamic Foundation at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.

However, there will be no such events this year due to coronavirus.

Earlier, the Islamic Foundation has advised returnees from abroad, persons suffering from fever, cough and cold and coronavirus-like symptoms, to avoid going to mosques and public gatherings to curb the spread of the deadly virus.

It also called on the khatibs and imams of mosques to offer special prayers for all so that they stay safe from the coronavirus and discuss the coronavirus issue with utmost importance during the ‘khutba’ of Jum’a prayers.
