Banker killed in Satkhira road mishap

A banker was killed in a road mishap at Patkelghhata here on Monday.

The deceased Shamsur Rahman Sana, 40, was the ADC Manager of Dutch Bangla Bank Fast Track and son of Shahidullah of village Sriula under Ashashuni upazila of the district.

The accident took place at 2 pm in front of Patkelghata Bangabandhu High School on Satkhira-Khulna road.

Witnesses said Sana was returning home from office when he lost control of his motorcycle and fell off it in front of the Patkelghata Bangabandhu High School. As he fell, a speeding truck that was just behind him could not apply the brakes in time, and the impact killed Sana on the spot.

Wahid Murshed, Officer-in-Charge of Patkelghata police station, confirmed the death saying that efforts are on to seize the killer truck, although that may be unwarranted since it could hardly be faulted for being unable to prevent hitting the victim in that situation.
