Transport workers call off strike in Mymensingh after two days of hardship

Transport operators in Mymensingh called off their strike on Tuesday night after a two-day movement over a demand for the shutdown of BRTC buses.

Starting at 3:30pm on Monday, private bus services suddenly came to a halt at Maskanda Bus Stand and Patgudam Bus Terminal that continued till Tuesday night.

Earlier, transport workers vowed to continue their protest until the demands are meet. But, what they say they called off their strike after getting assurance from police department.

The number of passengers for private buses has decreased after the launch of BRTC bus services, they said. Private bus owners are no longer able to charge as they please after the launch of BRTC bus service, according to workers.
