Member of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a man along with eight gold bars in a raid from Amarkhali Checkpost on Jashore-Benapole Highway in Jashore on Wednesday morning.

The arrestee is identified as Rabiul Islam, son of Manir uddin, hailing from RN road area in Jashore.

According to BGB-49 sources, acting on a tip-off, a team of law enforcers stopped the Benapole-bound vehicle at 9:00 am and recovered the gold bars from his possession after searching it in the area.

Habildar Shafiuddin of the Amrakhali BGB Checkpost confirmed the detention and added that the arrestee would be handed over to Benapole Port Police after completing legal process.
