MP Bubly’s BA candidacy scrapped for exam forgery

The authorities have decided not to evaluate the answer scripts of lawmaker Tamanna Nusrat Bubly for committing forgery in Bachelor of Arts (BA) examinations under the Bangladesh Open University (BOU).

MP Bubly’s candidacy has been scrapped as a female student sat for examination instead of real candidate.

Meanwhile, Narsingdi Government College authorities formed a three-member probe body to look into the incident of exams fraudulence by MP Bubly on Saturday.

The college authorities also expelled a Esha, who was caught red-handed for allegedly giving proxy to MP Bubly after being hired by her.

So far some eight female students have reportedly sat for examinations instead of an Awami League (AL) lawmaker, according to media reports.

Such examination fraudulence was disclosed in an investigative report by a private TV channel on Friday.

Bubly, a Member of Parliament (MP) from reserved seat-24 (Narsingdi) and widow of former Narsingdi municipality mayor Lokman Hossain, got enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts (BA) course under the Bangladesh Open University (BOU) to heighten her educational qualifications. But she relied on cheating in the exams to pass the course.

According to the affidavits, submitted by MP Bubly to the Election Commission (EC) before the 11th national elections, she has passed Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations.

So far thirteen examinations in first four semesters under the BA course were held, but MP Bubly didn’t attend any of them.

According to the investigative report, MP Bubly hired so far eight female students to give proxy exams for her.

They sat for the examinations instead of the lawmaker in exam centre in Narsingdi, while she was staying with her family members in the capital.

The authorities of the exam centre allowed her to do such irregularities due to her influence as a lawmaker in the locality.
