Health journalism training workshop held in PIB

A day-long ‘Health Journalism Training Workshop’ was held at press institute of bangladesh (PIB) in the capital on Wednesday. Bangladesh Manobadhikar Sangbadik Forum (BMSF) along with Ujjiban project of USAID organized the workshop.

State Minister for Information Md Murad Hasan was present as chief guest at the programme. In his speech State Minister said that “I have many tasks or responsibilities so that journalists can easily do their professional work, but I have not been able to start all the work yet.”

He was amazed at the Prime Minister’s community clinic’s plan to provide health services to the people of the village, by ensuring health services to the people of the grassroots by reaching at the doorsteps. He said “Quack doctor or kabiraj is most terrifying. When the patient goes to them for treatment, it becomes difficult to save the patient.

The government has provided health care at the union level to relieve patients from the quack doctors.” PIB Director General Zafar Wazed, BMSF president Enamul Kabir Rupop and General Secretary Khairuzzaman Kamal were present at the programme. A total 44 journalists took part in the day-long training.
