Two killed in Brahmanbaria road crashes

At least two people were killed in separate road accidents in Brahmanbaria on Friday night.

The deceased were identified as Jahurul Haque, 90, a resident of Gokarnoghat area in municipality town of the upazila and Nazrul Islam, 32, hailing from Kumarpara area of Akhaura Sadar upazila.

Quoting local people police said that a speedy motorcycle rammed Jahurul Haque, while he was waiting for bus at the Fulbaria bus stand area of Brahmanbaria, leaving him critically injured.

Later, the injured was taken to District Sadar Hospital where duty doctor declared him dead.

Besides, a Brahmanbaria-bound CNG auto-rickshaw from Akhaura hit a pickup van from behind on the Comilla-Sylhet highway in Radhika area of the Sadar upazila and the auto rickshaw passenger Najrul Islam fell on the highway when another speedy truck rammed him, leaving Nazrul dead on the spot.

Muhammad Selim Uddin, officer-in-charge (OC) Brahmanbaria Sadar Model Police Station confirmed the matter.
