Adopt digital payment system: Jabbar

Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar on Friday said businesses have to adopt the digital payment system to avoid probable risks in transactions.    

He also emphasised on obtaining consumers’ trust to maintain growth in digital business.  

The minister came up with the remarks at the opening ceremony of E-Commerce Fair in the capital.

E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (E-Cab) has organised the fair with a vow to raise awareness on electronic commerce as well as digital payment system in business. 

Bangladesh Post Office Director General Sushanto Kumar Mondal and E-Cab President Shomi Kaiser were also present on the occasion. 

A total of 80 organisations is participating in the fair at General Post Office (GPO) in Gulistan to showcase e-commerce services and delivery models alongside the payment gateways systems.

Several seminars will also be organised on E-Commerce system today (Saturday) for expanding it in rural areas. 

E-Commerce Fair Coordinator Asif Ahnaf said the companies participating in the fair are offering exclusive price alongside gift items. A total of 80 stalls, including 6 pavilions and 6 mini pavilions, have been set up at the expo arena.  

The participants include Daraz, AjkerDeal, Chaldal, PriyoShop, Rokomari, DinRatri, E-Post, Registro, Organic Online, LeisFita, DigitalHub, Spider Digital, AmarShop, KhasFood, ShajGoj, WaletMix, Creative IT, Pathao, PaperFly and Sindabad.

Moreover, Dutch Bangla Bank and Mutual Trust Bank are showcasing digital payment solutions for the digital medium of business.
