Jashore man held for ‘violating’ 4 schoolgirls, ‘rape attempt’ on 2 others

Police arrested a man from Benapole in Sharsha upazila of Jashore on Saturday for reportedly raping four schoolgirls and trying to rape two others in the district town, reports UNB.

The arrestee was identified as Aminur Rahman, 42, son of Hanef of Ratanpur village in Kaliganj upazila of Satkhira. He used to work at the house of Ehsanul Haque Setu at Kharki of the district town as a caretaker.

Tipped off, a police team conducted a drive in bordering Gatipara area at noon and arrested Aminur while trying to flee to India, UNB quoted Apurba Hasan, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station.

He will be produced before the court on Sunday, the OC said.

A case was filed by one of the victims' sister with the police station on May 1.

According to the case statement, Aminur took the six girls of his employer's house at different times from January last and raped four of them.

He also tried to violate the two other girls and released them as they raised alarm.

In the latest incident, Aminur took a girl to the house around 3:30pm on April 24 and violated her there. The matter came to the fore on the day.

Medical tests on the four 'rape' victims were carried out at 250-bed Jashore Hospital on Thursday last and all of the six testified before a court.
