Former state minister for home Lutfozzaman Babar has been taken to Shylet Osmani Medical College Hospital for medical checkup.
The death row convict in August 21 grenade attack case was taken to the hospital from Shylet Central jail at around 10:00am on Saturday, said senior jail super Md Abdul Jalil.
Babar took treatment from Dr Abu Naim Mohammad, resident physician of the Department of Medicine in the hospital. The doctor examined Babar and recommended some medical tests.
The members of prison guard took Babar to the doctor’s room in wheel chair with strict security.
Babar was sentenced to death in the 10-truck arms haul case in 2014.
Moreover, on October 10, 2018, a Speedy Trial Tribunal-1 of Dhaka sentenced Babar to death in the August 21 grenade attack case.
Babar is also among the 32 indicted for the murder case of Awami League leader and former finance minister SAMS Kibria.
