The first edition of Dhaka Art Week 2019, showcasing artworks by prominent and amateur artists, concluded on Saturday.

The four-day exhibition, organised by Art Hawk, took place at the National Art Gallery of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. It included installation and performance artworks with paintings of various artists.

Dhaka Art Week had engaging events such as Open Mic Night that allowed aspiring artists to perform and Triple-A (Art for All, by All), where visitors were given a chance to create and display their artworks and take part in discussions on art.

About 150 artworks by noted and celebrated artists of the subcontinent including Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin, SM Sultan, MF Hussain, Hashem Khan, Dulal Chandra, Rafiqun Nabi, and others were displayed alongside the works of amateur artists.

Around 130 artists were invited on the final day to connect and exchange views with the visitors.

Planning Minister MA Mannan opened the exhibition on Wednesday. The open-for-all event attracted art lovers and enthusiasts from all walks of life.

Dhaka Art Week was co-hosted by Aamari, Best Sourcing Radio Shadhin 92.4 FM and IFAD Multi Products Ltd.
