BNP top leaders on Friday called the party leaders and activists to prepare for waging a tougher movement to realise their demands, including the release of the party chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail.

The BNP leaders made the call at a protest meeting at the Institution of Engineers’ Bangladesh in the capital. BNP arranged the programme demanding release of Khaleda Zia and other jailed leaders and activists.

Speaking at the protest programme as the chief guest, BNP standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain asked the party’s candidates who contested in 11th parliament polls to rehabilitate the party men who have been repressed during the election.

“The organization will have to be made stronger after correcting the weakness of the party, its front and associate organisations. After strengthening the organization, we will bounce back,” he said. BNP standing committee member Moudud Ahmed said “It is not possible to free Khaleda Zia from jail through the legal process. There is no alternative to movement. All get ready for movement to free Khaleda Zia from jail.”
