The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday approved two separate charge sheets against former BNP lawmaker Mosaddek Ali Falu and his wife Mahbuba Sultana in two cases filed on charges of acquiring illegal wealth and concealing asset information.

The national anti-graft agency approved the chare sheets against the couple at the commission’s regular meeting held at Segunbagicha headquarters in the capital, said ACC spokesperson Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee.

On May 15, 2017, ACC filed a case against Falu, also chairman and managing director of a private television channel NTV, with Ramna Police Station on charges of amassing illegal wealth worth Tk 17.86 crore from beyond known sources of income.

The BNP leader concealed information about his wealth in the asset details submitted to ACC.

Besides, the commission also filed a case in August of the same year against Falu’s wife Mahbuba Sultana for allegedly amassing wealth beyond known sources of income.
