Oikya Front begins polls campaign from Sylhet

Jatiya Oikya Front, led by Dr Kamal Hossain, has started its election campaign from Sylhet  through offering fateha at shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) for 11th parliamentary election scheduled to be held on December 30.


A team of top leaders of the Oikya Front led by Dr Kamal Hossain offered fateha at the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) in on Wednesday afternoon and started the election campaign.


The candidates of the alliance informally launched campaign on Monday after the distribution of the election symbol by the Election Commission.


After offering fathea at the shrine, Kamal Hossain reiterated his call to the country’s people to guard the polling centers on the day of national election since the morning so that no rigging can take place.


He said fair atmosphere for voting will have to be realised for holding the upcoming general election in a free, fair and neutral manner.


“If fair election is not held then people wouldn’t get their ownership of the country. People unitedly will have to protect the ownership of the country. And the Oikya Front has been formed to this end,” he said.


BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-JSD president ASM Abdur Rab, Krishak Sramik Janata League president Abdul Kader Siddik and Ganashathya Kendra founder Zafrullah Chowdhury were also present.
