Jannatul Ferdous Oishee has won the title of ‘Miss World Bangladesh’ defeating 30,000 contestants. She will represent Bangladesh in the upcoming ‘Miss World’ competition set for December 8 this year in China.
Here is the details of Oishee:
She comes from Pirojpur. Born on a middle-class family, she completed her HSC this year. She came to Dhaka for enrolling herself at a university admission coaching center.
Oishee was dreaming for admitting herself at a renowned public university in the country. But, she jostled up after hearing the news of applying for Miss World Bangladesh 2018 competition.
She decided to apply for the title acting on her curiosity. Very soon, she managed her place at the top ten stage. After that, her confidence skyrocketed and finally she got her niche.
“I love my country and my culture. I have been fighting for myself as of now, but from now on, I have to fight for my country. It’s a great responsibility for me and I seek blessings from all,” she said when asked how she will represent the country in the main pageant.
The 18-year-old has completed her higher secondary education. Her father is a development worker and mother a teacher. Oishee is the youngest among two sisters.
She has been participating in debates regularly while in school and college. She is also involved in dance, swimming, drawing, writing and singing, said Oishee adding about her involvement in social welfare activities.
Antar Showbiz conducted the selection process at a beautiful set constructed at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation. After auditions of more than 30 thousand girls who registered online, selection, and performance based rounds, top ten contestants were selected by the judges.
