Netizens were left scratching their heads when a 29-year-old man from Andhra Pradesh made the bizarre claim that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was his mother. Not just this, he insisted that Aishwarya gave birth to him in 1988 (the year she turned 15) via IVF (in vitro fertilisation) in London.
The Times Of India reports that the Vizag police have said that if Aishwarya files a formal complaint against Adireddy Sandeep Kumar, who was earlier identified as Sangeeth Kumar, for damaging her reputation, they will take action against him. However, they clarified that there is little that can be done if he is found to be medically or mentally ill.
Incidentally, this is not the first instance of Kumar claiming to have a celebrity connection. Earlier, he had said that he was a disciple of Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman.
Chodavaram circle inspector M Srinivas from Visakhapatnam told the publication, "We can act from our side if we receive any formal complaint from the victim concerned. We also came to know through unofficial information that Sandeep had earlier claimed to be a disciple of music director AR Rahman."
Sources have said that Kumar is the son of an Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus conductor. He is known to be quite intelligent in his academics, and is an alcoholic. He is currently in Vizag.
Meanwhile, Aishwarya has been busy shooting for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's musical comedy Fanney Khan. She will be paired opposite Rajkummar Rao in the film, which also features Anil Kapoor in the lead.
