Government on Saturday evening deployed Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members in the port city Chittagong to control violence amidst preparation for Muhammad Kamaruzzaman’s execution on Saturday night.
Three platoons of BGB were deployed in the city in the evening, said deputy commander of BGB-28 battalion, Tanvir Mahmood.
There are speculations that convicted war criminal and Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Kamaruzzaman will be executed tonight in the Dhaka Central Jail. Commanding bodies took the decision of BGB deployment as there are possibilities of violent activities if the execution takes place.
Three BGB camps in the Dhaka-Chittagong highway are in high alert and number of patrol troopers has been increased, mentioned the deputy commander.
