At least 20 people were injured in pre-election violence at Makahati in Sadar upazila early Thursday.

Following this, followers of Kalpana intercepted the supporters of Ripon Patwari, triggering a clash.

However, the violence spilled into Rajar Char and Kalir Char areas where supporters of the two chairmen candidates locked into another clash, leaving at least 20 people injured.

On information, police rushed to the spots and brought the situation under control, the SI added.
