The Lakshmipur District Student Welfare Council organised a doa and iftar gathering at Government Titumir College in the capital, drawing students, guests from different sectors and leaders of the organisation.

Guests from business, law enforcement and social organisations attended the event alongside college students and members of the welfare body.

Nur Alam, managing director of Naisha Enterprise Limited and chairman of Naisha Foundation, joined the programme as a special guest. Zayed Nur Palash, officer-in-charge of Sandwip Police Station in Chattogram, also attended the event.

Other guests included Advocate Md Golam Sarwar, former joint general secretary of Titumir College unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, and businessmen Masud Alam and Nazmul Islam Sumon.

Advisers of the Lakshmipur District Student Welfare Council — Sultan Mahmud Parash, Mozammel Hossain Swadhin, Kamal Hossain, Sohel Alam Sagar and Kamrul Hasan Sagar — also joined the programme.

Md Abdul Hannan Farhad, founding president of the organisation and co-organising secretary of the central committee of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, presided over the event. Taslim Chowdhury, president of the council’s Titumir College unit, conducted the doa, while Md Anwar Hossain, general secretary of the organisation, moderated the programme.

Speaking at the event, Nur Alam said the younger generation holds the responsibility of shaping the country’s future. He urged students to focus on education, uphold moral values and develop a strong sense of social responsibility.

He also encouraged students to maintain compassion and cooperation alongside their academic pursuits.

Leaders of the executive committee of the Lakshmipur District Student Welfare Council supervised the event. Students and guests joined a special prayer seeking peace and prosperity for the country and the nation.

Abul Khayer Bhuiyan, member of parliament from Lakshmipur-2, received an invitation to attend the programme as chief guest but could not join due to time constraints as the Jatiya Sangsad held its first session on the same day.
