Inqilab Moncho warns of Shahbagh blockade demanding arrest of Hadi attackers

The Inqilab Moncho on Thursday threatened to indefinitely block the Shahbagh intersection with like-minded groups, demanding the arrest of the attackers of Osman Hadi, if the July Uprising participant succumbs to his bullet injuries.

Inqilab Moncho Spokesperson Osman Hadi was shot in the head by an assailant last Friday, while campaigning as an independent candidate from Dhaka-8 constituency for the February general elections.

In case Hadi joins the “ranks of the martyrs,” all the “independence-loving oppressed people” of Bangladesh are requested to enforce the blockade, said separate posts published on the facebook handles of Osman Hadi and Inqilab Moncho on Thursday.

“The entire country will be left paralysed through the indefinite blockade until all the killers are arrested,” the post publishers warned.

If the main suspect has managed to flee to India, he must be extradited at all cost through consultations with the Indian government, the posts added.

Hadi is set to undergo an emergency surgery on his brain in Singapore for the serious bullet injuries he sustained on a campaign trail last week, the post noted.

His family has already consented to the surgery, the post read, urging people to pray for his recovery.
