Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Tuesday warned protest sites will emerge across India if demonstrations are banned at New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar.
“If they think the protest will stop if Jantar Mantar is denotified as a protest site, then the entire country will turn Jantar Mantar. Jantar Mantar is the spirit of every agitator,” he stated.
Dipke made the remarks while speaking to the media at his native village Santuk Pimpri in Maharashtra’s Hingoli district, where he had come to attend the asthi visarjan (immersion of one’s ashes – a post-death ritual) of his late grandmother, Savitribai Dipke.
The CJP leader also said he will reach the national capital on Wednesday to join the CJP’s protest, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar.

He said Jantar Mantar was the soul of protests and SpaceX SPCX.O, Starlink's parent company, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Starlink is seeking to launch in a country with more than a billion internet subscribers. Alongside Starlink, satellite ventures backed by Reliance Jio and Bharti are awaiting final clearances to begin services.
Musk has repeatedly taunted Ambani on X, questioning why Starlink still lacked a licence despite what he said were years of compliance with Indian requirements.
"Is Ambani the real boss of India?" he posted last week, as he accused the rival billionaire of stalling Starlink's entry.
