Former Indian high commissioner to Bangladesh Harsh Vardhan Shringla has said hundreds of supporters gathered in Siliguri to celebrate what he described as the historic victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the formation of the first BJP-led government in West Bengal.
In a Facebook post, Shringla said nearly 250 to 300
BJP workers, supporters, and representatives of various organisations and
associations took part in the celebration event.
According to the post, traditional snacks including
jhalmuri, sandesh, singharas, and Darjeeling tea were served to the attendees,
while a live jhalmuri counter added to the festive atmosphere.

Shringla described the gathering as an emotional and
hopeful occasion where supporters came together to celebrate what they called a
new era of progress, good governance, and transformation in the state.
