The body of Bangladeshi student Nahida Sultana Bristy, who was killed in Florida in the United States, has been recovered.
The
Bangladesh Embassy in Washington confirmed the matter on Friday.
Florida
police informed Bristy’s brother over the phone that the second body recovered
in connection with the case was hers. Her family has requested that the body be
sent back to Bangladesh.
The
embassy, through the Bangladesh Consulate in Miami, has started the process of
repatriating the body.
Meanwhile,
the body of Jamil Ahmed Limon, another Bangladeshi student who was found dead
earlier, is scheduled to be sent to Bangladesh from Orlando International
Airport on Saturday (2 May). It is expected to reach Dhaka via Dubai on 4 May.
Limon,
a PhD student in geography, environmental science and policy at the University
of South Florida, had been missing for around 10 days before his body was
recovered by police on 24 April.
Bristy,
also a Bangladeshi PhD student, went missing on the same day. Police later
recovered parts of her body from a waterbody near I-275 and North Fourth Street
in Florida.
