More than just golf!
Bashundhara SuperGolf, officially opened in the capital on Thursday, has been designed not simply as a place to play golf, but as an integrated lifestyle and entertainment hub where sport, food, family recreation and socialising come together.
Launched by Sanvir Bashundhara Group (SBG), the facility near Madani Avenue is built around the concept “More than just golf”, with the aim of making the sport more accessible and enjoyable for a much wider audience.
The idea is simple: people do not have to be serious golfers to enjoy SuperGolf. Families, university students, groups of friends and corporate teams can come to play, eat, socialise or simply spend their leisure time in a modern sporting environment.
Spread across three levels, the facility features 107 golf bays equipped with digital tracking technology. Players can see their swing, ball speed, direction and distance on screens while taking part in different games and challenges.
Unlike conventional golf clubs, visitors do not need to commit to a traditional membership structure. The facility offers both annual membership and a Pay-and-Play option, opening the experience to members of the public.
The concept is inspired by the US-based Topgolf model, combining a driving range with entertainment and hospitality. The 250-yard range has deluxe bays on the first two floors, while the third floor features VIP suites for larger groups and private gatherings.
Golf is only part of the package.
The venue has restaurants, cafes, a pro shop, high-tech golf simulators and training rooms, billiards, meeting rooms, a social event hall, a sports lounge and a kids’ zone.
Four simulators offer virtual access to 207 world-famous golf courses, allowing players to experience an 18-hole round without travelling beyond Dhaka.
For families, the kids’ zone provides activities including robotics, arts and crafts, allowing children to remain engaged while their parents play golf. There are also facilities for food and refreshments within the bays and dedicated dining options for VIP guests.
Aemil Ahmed Sobhan, Managing Director of Bashundhara SuperGolf, said the project was conceived as a modern space where people could enjoy professional golf practice alongside food, entertainment and social activities.
“Our main objective was to create a modern space where people can enjoy not only professional golf practice but also food, entertainment and social activities with their families, friends and corporate teams,” he said.
The Managing Director added that the project had been developed over more than a year with a focus on international-standard services and a distinctive visitor experience.
With golf at their heart but a much broader experience around it, Bashundhara SuperGolf are positioning themself as a new destination for sport, recreation and social life in Dhaka, while seeking to make golf more accessible to a new generation.
