Three Bangladeshi-American sisters have made their mark in the realm of top-flight US College Football, with all three competing in the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s (NCAA) division-1 level. The eldest among them Nawreen Ahmad (20) plays for the Florida State University and was a member of the team that emerged champion in the NCAA Championships last year. She was also invited to the US Under-19 National Football Team camp in 2025 following her highly impressive performance in American College Football.
Nawreen’s younger sisters Nadia Ahmad (17) and Ava Ahmad (17) are also competing at the NCAA division-1 level football. They are already part of the women’s football program of the University of Utah. Their father Jaon Ahmad is an investment banker while mother Charissa is an environmental engineer. The sisters’ grandfather Gias Ahmad hails from Feni, Bangladesh, while their great grandfather Jalal-ud-Din Ahmad was adjudged the best headmaster of the then Pakistan back in 1967.
The Ahmad sisters are now carrying forward their family name onto the top-class US college football scene and inspiring young female footballers in both Bangladesh and the USA. Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) should consider recruiting them for the national women’s football team of the country.
