Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official said that they will summon T20 International all-rounder Mahedi Hasan for a hearing as he breached board’s code of conduct by publicly pointing fingers at team management.
BCB official on request of anonymity confirmed to Daily Sun that his recent outburst against team management during the T20I series against Australia came to their notice.
“We will call him for a hearing because as a contracted cricketer you have to follow some rules and regulations and it seems he breached it through publicly pointing fingers at the team management,” said the official.
This is not the first time he had done something like this as he acted similarly earlier and went scot-free.
“We feel if he was notified and warned earlier he wouldn’t have done it again,” he said.
“We are not going to tolerate any disciplinary issues,” he added.
Mahedi on 22 June expressed frustration at not receiving a consistent run in the side, suggesting that frequent omissions have hampered his ability to perform at his best.
A T20 specialist, Mahedi was left out of the second and third matches of the recently concluded T20I series against Australia despite contributing in the opener, where he scored an unbeaten 29 from number eight and returned figures of 1/29.
"Regret is often there, as a cricketer, I only play the T20 format but even then I am not a regular there. More often than not I fall under the requirements of matchup or combination, it is disappointing for me," Mahedi was quoted saying to T Sports after the series. "If I could play regularly, I could have performed better than what I did previously," he added.
Earlier on 29 November, 2025, Mahedi made similar accusations against the team management.
When asked why he has not been a regular in the Bangladesh XI despite strong performances, Mahedi looked dejected.
“Actually, maybe the head coach can answer this question. Our captain can answer this,” said Mahedi.
“Those involved in our team selection can answer this. Look, my job is to play. Regarding the question you asked, it is difficult for me... Let me ask you a question: If you work for a channel one month and another channel the next month, it certainly wouldn't be comfortable for you. The same thing is difficult for me. But I am trying," he said after being overlooked in favour of Nasum Ahmed and Rishad Hossain.
