Day 2 of Round 4 of the 27th National Cricket League (Four Day) 2025–26 witnessed Dhaka mount a strong response to Rajshahi’s first-innings total of 298 at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium. Dhaka finished the day at 252 for 4 in 68 overs, largely thanks to an exceptional unbeaten century from Ashikur Rahman Shibli, who was on 112 off 200 balls at stumps. Dhaka had a shaky start, losing two early wickets for just 12 runs. However, Shibli, in composed fashion, joined forces with Anisul Islam, who played confidently to score 97 off 151 balls, narrowly missing out on a well-earned century. The duo’s crucial partnership steadied the innings before Anisul’s dis-missal at 200 for 3. The innings continued to consolidate despite the loss of Marshall Ayub for a duck at 231 for 4. The match will resume on Day 3 with Shibli and Taibur Rahman (12 off 24) at the crease, as Dhaka look to build on their position. On the bowling front, Rajshahi’s Ashraful Islam Siam once again impressed. After taking four wickets on Day 1, he finished Day 2 with a total of five wickets in the innings so far, continuing a fine bowling spell that kept Dhaka under pressure.
Meanwhile, Mymensingh strengthened their position against Chattogram at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Cricket Stadium in Chattogram. Chattogram were bowled out for 210 in 52 overs, with Shahadat Hossain Dipu top-scoring with a fluent 65 off 87 balls. Mymensingh bowlers Shuvagata Hom Chowdhury and Arif Ahmed led the attack, picking four wickets apiece. Mymensingh responded with 82 for no loss at stumps, with openers Mah-fijul Islam Robin (36 off 63) and Naim Sheikh (33 off 75) laying a solid foundation. At the Shahid Chandu Stadium, Rangpur completed their first innings at 202 all out in 76 overs, with both Mim Mosaddeak and Nasir Hossain scoring 37 each. Barishal struggled in reply, end-ing Day 2 at 90 for 7, with Tasamul Haque unbeaten on 22. Rangpur bowlers Robiul Hoque and Rishad Hossain claimed three wickets apiece.
