An employee picks cherry tomatoes at Davis Potereau’s market garden in Milizac, western France, on 2 April, 2025. The president of the Western Market Gardening Cooperative of the brand Savéol, the French leader in tomatoes, called on 2 April, 2025, for “fair rules” in the face of “distorted competition” represented, according to him, by low-cost Moroccan tomatoes. The cooperative, which employs 2,500 people, produces most of its tomatoes “without pesticides,” the latter being replaced by insects raised in greenhouses.
