The Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) on Sunday expelled its eight leaders from their organisational posts in the Jagannath University unit for alleged violation of organisational discipline and served a show-cause notice on Joint Convener Nahian Bin Anik.
The information was given in two separate press releases
signed by JCD Office Secretary Md Jahangir Alam, stating that the decision was
approved by JCD President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin
Nasir.
According to the press release, the expelled leaders are JnU
unit Joint Convener Sabuj Shahriar and members Md Israfil Islam Rafil, Masum
Reza, Yasin Saif, Imran Hossain Emon, Moniruzzaman Monir and Md Souravur Rahman
Sujon. It also expelled Kabya Saha from the organisation’s primary membership.
According to the notice, Nahian Bin Anik has been directed to appear at the JCD central office within 24 hours and submit a written explanation in the presence of the central president and general secretary.
The notice said permanent disciplinary action may be taken
against him depending on his explanation.
Earlier on Sunday, a fresh clash erupted between two
factions of the Jagannath University (JnU) unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal
(JCD), leaving at least four students injured.
The clash reportedly stemmed from a Facebook post by JnU
unit Joint Convener Nahian Bin Haque Anik targeting JnU JCD Member Secretary
Shamsul Arefin.
