BUBT named joint champion at Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026

Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) has been jointly named champion among universities across Bangladesh at the Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026 for its contribution to promoting research, innovation, creativity and youth engagement.

BUBT was one of five universities to receive the champion recognition at the three-day fair, held from  12 to 14 September at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novo Theatre in Dhaka, according to a press release.

The fair was organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology and inaugurated by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

More than 70 universities and over 200 innovators from across the country participated in the fair, along with researchers, academicians, industry professionals, entrepreneurs and young innovators.

BUBT participated through BUBT Innovation HUB, showcasing products developed entirely by BUBTians. Over the past one and a half years, BUBT Innovation HUB has developed more than 20 products covering areas including agriculture, medical technology, corporate communication, security, EdTech and STEM education.

Visitors, including industrialists, academicians, researchers and other professionals, appreciated the finishing, design, functionality and practical applications of the products. Some expressed interest in purchasing the products, while others showed interest in potential collaborations and partnerships.

The BUBT team at the fair was led by BUBT Vice-Chancellor ABM Shawkat Ali. The core team members of BUBT Innovation HUB were Rakib Hasan, Sahadat Sani, Mahbubul Islam, Ibrahim Shikder Mahin, Abdullah Al Sadnun and Symun Ahammed Limon.

Team Tori also showcased their project with the BUBT Innovation HUB team at the fair.
