The Islamic University Science Club (IUSC) organised the “2nd IUSC National Science Festival-2026” on the campus in Kushtia.

The two-day festival was held at the university’s Bottola premises with the participation of students from more than 100 educational institutions across the country, organisers said.

IU Vice-Chancellor Prof Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah inaugurated the festival on Monday through a colourful rally. The festival concluded on Tuesday night with a prize-giving ceremony and closing session at the central auditorium on the campus.

The concluding ceremony was chaired by IUSC President Junaidul Mostafa, with the VC attending as the chief guest.

IU Treasurer Prof Mohammad Jahangir Alam attended the programme as a special guest, while Pubali Bank Deputy Managing Director Mohammad Shahnewaz Khan joined as the guest of honour.

Prof Mohammad Shahjahan Ali, adviser to the organisation and director of the university’s ICT Cell, attended the programme as chief patron.

The festival featured a wide range of science-based competitions and activities, including project showcase, science olympiad, poster presentation, three-minute presentation, science bingo, treasure hunt, photography competition, Rubik’s Cube competition, and chess competition.

Besides, 4D and 9D movie shows were also arranged in the theatre room during the festival.

On the first day, project showcase, poster presentations, three-minute presentations, and chess competitions were held simultaneously at different venues on the campus.

On the second day, science olympiad and Rubik’s Cube competitions were held alongside project showcases and photography contests. A campus-wide treasure hunt and movie show were also arranged.

Addressing the closing ceremony, VC Nasrullah thanked the Science Club for organising the festival and said science-based activities play an important role in developing students’ creativity, innovative thinking, and research-oriented mindset.

He also stressed the need for transforming universities into research-oriented institutions alongside academic learning.
