JU Senate Hall named after ‘Jannatul Ferdous Senate Hall’

The Senate Hall of Jahangirnagar University (JU) has been named after the late teacher Jannatul Ferdous, who died on duty during the Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) election.

The information was disclosed on Wednesday (14 January) in an office order signed by A B M Azizur Rahman, acting registrar of JU.

According to the office order, the university syndicate, at a special meeting held on 4 December last year, approved the renaming of the Senate Hall as ‘Jannatul Ferdous Senate Hall’.

Jannatul Ferdous, 31, was a lecturer in the Department of Fine Arts at Jahangirnagar University. She passed away while on duty as a polling officer at Pritilata Hall during the JUCSU election.
