BUFT National Textile Fair 2025 Ends Successfully

BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) successfully hosted the “Shin Shin Group Presents National Textile Management Fair 2025” on 16 November 2025 at its Nishatnagar campus in Turag, Dhaka. Powered by Auko-Tex Group, co-powered by Citizens Bank, and sponsored by DYSIN and Lejin International Limited, the event organized by the BUFT Textile Engineering Management & Innovation Club (BTEMIC), brought together over 700 participants from 61 institutions, including 24 universities and 37 colleges, creating one of the nation’s largest platforms for emerging textile talent.
The fair highlighted innovation, research excellence, and industry–academia collaboration, offering students, educators, and industry leaders a forum to explore the future of Bangladesh’s textile and RMG sectors.
The opening session featured addresses from BUFT leaders and industry experts, including Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Acting Vice Chancellor; Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Jalil, Dean, Faculty of Sciences; Mr. Md. Rafiquzzaman, Registrar; Ms. Sharmin Alam Simi (Standard MH Group); Mr. Mohammad Faizur Rahman (AUST); Mr. TIM Zahid Hossain (Shin Shin Group); and Mr. Sayeed Ahmed Chowdhury (Square Textiles Division), who emphasized innovation-driven education and the importance of industry collaboration. Textile Talk sessions offered practical insights on emerging trends and future opportunities, while the Brain Battle Olympiad and Innovation Hub Exhibition showcased student excellence in smart materials, sustainability-focused research, technical innovation, and textile knowledge, with projects evaluated on creativity, feasibility, impact, communication, and research quality.
The closing and prize-giving ceremony was presided over by Mr. Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, BUFT & former BGMEA President. Guest of Honor Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Acting Vice Chancellor of BUFT, along with Special Guests Mr. Mohammed Nasir, Member of BoT, BUFT; Mr. Mohammad Sohel Sadat, Chairman, Shin Shin Group; Mr. Mohammad Hasan Arif, Vice Chairman, EPB; Mr. Shahid Hussain Shamim, Director, SME Foundation; Engr. Abdus Sobhan, Managing Director, AUKO-TEX Group; Mr. Mehedi Hasan, Managing Director, Nature Craft Bangladesh Ltd.; and Mr. Rafi Islam, CEO & Founder, BWM, praised BUFT for its commitment to nurturing the next generation of textile innovators. Winners of the Brain Battle Olympiad and Innovation Hub competitions shared a total prize pool of Taka 90,000.
At the college level, the champion, 1st runner-up, and 2nd runner-up were Government Science College, Tamirul Millat Kamil Madrasha, and Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College, respectively. At the university level, the champion, 1st runner-up, and 2nd runner-up were AUST, BUFT, and Uttara University, respectively. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. Md. Alamgir Hossain, Treasurer of BUFT, followed by a vibrant cultural evening showcasing student creativity and talent, reaffirming BUFT’s leadership in textile education, innovation, and youth development.
