Southern University Bangladesh held a day-long ‘Career Fest and Placement Day’ on Saturday. The event was organised on the university’s permanent campus in the city’s Arefin Nagar area. 

The university Vice-Chancellor (Acting) Dr Sharif Ashrafuzzaman inaugurated the event by cutting ribbon.

Its founder Professor Sarwar Jahan, GPH Ispat Director Sadman Syka Sefa, Organising Committee Convener, and Science and Engineering faculty Dean Professor Dr Engineer Mozammel Haque, Business Administration faculty Dean Professor Dr Israt Jahan, Registrar AFM Modasser Ali and representatives of various recruiting organisations attended the event.

The participants said that such an initiative is a great opportunity for students to prove themselves and start a career from the campus. 

A platform is very important to prove one’s skills and talent in the competitive world, they said anticipating that the career ‘Fest and Placement Day’ will inspire students to build their careers and help them find the right job.

In a special discussion session, HR heads and professionals from renowned organisations in the country presented various job interview techniques to the students.
