Rezaur Rahman Khan, head of operations of Bashundhara SuperGolf, speaks to the Daily Sun about South Asia’s first integrated golf and lifestyle destination, its open-door philosophy and its ambitions for Bangladesh.

Here are the excerpts:

In an exclusive interview with Daily Sun, he spoke about the idea behind SuperGolf, its technology-driven experience, its impact on tourism and the message he wants to send to anyone who has never held a golf club.

Daily Sun: Bashundhara SuperGolf has just opened its doors. For those who may not know about it yet, what exactly is SuperGolf?

Rezaur Rahman Khan: SuperGolf is South Asia's first integrated golf and lifestyle destination.

What does that mean? It means we have 68 high-tech golf bays, 17 VIP Suites with dual simulators, four world-class restaurants, with more to come in the near future, three golf simulators, a dedicated Golf Coach room, a Pro Shop and event spaces for different occasions, all under one roof.

But it is about more than the facilities. It is a place where anyone can walk in, pick up a club and have a great time.

Whether you are a seasoned golfer or someone who has never swung a club before, SuperGolf is for you. We want it to be an inclusive gathering place.

Daily Sun: One of the most striking features is that no membership is required. Why was that so important to the vision?

Rezaur Rahman Khan: That is really at the heart of everything we have built.

Golf has traditionally been seen as an exclusive sport, something reserved for members of private clubs. We wanted to change that perception.

At SuperGolf, there is no membership requirement. You do not need an invitation and you do not need to know anyone. You simply walk in and you are welcome.

Our vision is to make golf accessible to everyone, from a young family enjoying a weekend to a corporate team spending a Friday evening together.

The game belongs to everyone, and so does SuperGolf.

Daily Sun: What can someone who has never picked up a golf club expect from the experience?

Rezaur Rahman Khan: The first thing we tell people is simple: do not worry. You do not have to be good at golf to have a great time here.

When guests arrive, our Bay Hosts welcome them, explain the technology and show them how everything works.

We have different game modes. Some are simply designed for fun, such as hitting targets or playing virtual courses. You do not need any previous experience.

You do not even need your own clubs because we provide everything. The goal is simple: you come in, enjoy yourself and leave wanting to return.

Daily Sun: SuperGolf is clearly about much more than golf. What else can guests enjoy?

Rezaur Rahman Khan: Absolutely. SuperGolf is a complete lifestyle destination.

We currently have four restaurants, including Urban Crave, our premium casual dining outlet, and The 19th Hole, our exclusive signature restaurant. Terra China is also set to open, while Café Amazon brings a globally recognised name to the destination.

We also have three advanced golf simulators for those who want to experience some of the world's great courses indoors.

There is a dedicated Golf Coach room for lessons and player development, along with event spaces for corporate functions, weddings and birthdays.

We also have a Kids Activity Area for our younger guests. You can come for golf, food, the atmosphere or simply to celebrate a special occasion.

Daily Sun: Can a family come here for a weekend, or can someone simply come for dinner and enjoy the atmosphere?

Rezaur Rahman Khan: That is exactly who we built this for.

Families are absolutely welcome. We have activities for children, a dedicated Kids Area and food options suitable for different age groups.

Someone who simply wants dinner can book a table at one of our restaurants and enjoy the view, the ambience and quality food.

For birthdays and celebrations, we have different packages, VIP Suites and event spaces.

Whether you are here for two hours or six, we want everyone to find something that makes them feel at home.

Daily Sun: For those looking for something more premium, what do the VIP Suites offer?

Rezaur Rahman Khan: We have 17 VIP Suites on our dedicated VIP floor, designed for guests who want a more private and premium experience.

Each suite offers a private setting, dedicated service and direct access to The 19th Hole.

They are popular with corporate clients, but they are not limited to them. Anyone can book the experience.

Whether it is a business meeting, a celebration or simply a night out with friends, the VIP Suites offer a level of luxury and privacy that is truly distinctive in Dhaka.

Daily Sun: Technology appears to be central to the SuperGolf experience. How does it enhance the game?

Rezaur Rahman Khan: Technology is at the heart of SuperGolf.

Every bay is equipped with state-of-the-art ball-tracking systems that provide real-time information about your swing, including ball speed, launch angle and distance.

Our simulators use advanced launch-monitor technology to recreate the experience of playing some of the world's finest courses.

We also have GolfJoy systems that bring another level of immersion and interaction to the game.

But the important thing is that we do not want technology to feel intimidating. It is there to enhance the experience, not overwhelm the guest.

Our team is always available to help.

Daily Sun: What does a project like SuperGolf mean for Bangladesh in terms of the economy, tourism and future generations?

Rezaur Rahman Khan: I genuinely believe this can be a game-changer for Bangladesh.

First, it creates employment. We have brought together hundreds of people across operations, culinary services, hospitality and other areas.

Second, it helps put Bangladesh on the map as a destination for world-class entertainment and hospitality.

When people visit Dhaka, we want SuperGolf to be among the places they want to experience.

We have already welcomed visitors from Croatia, Malaysia, England, the United States, Canada and several other countries, and they have been impressed by what has been built here.

Perhaps most importantly, it can inspire the next generation. I want young people in Bangladesh to look at this and think, ‘I can play golf too.’

This is not simply a business. It is also a statement about what Bangladesh is capable of.

Daily Sun: A project of this scale requires a huge effort behind the scenes. Who deserves credit for bringing SuperGolf to life?

Rezaur Rahman Khan: I wish I could bring every single member of the team in front of the camera.

From the construction teams who worked through the night to the culinary teams who spent months developing and refining the menus, everyone has played a part.

Our Bay Hosts and Front Office teams will be the face of SuperGolf, but there are countless people working behind the scenes every day.

This is their achievement. They have poured their hearts into it.

On behalf of the entire leadership team, I want to say that we are deeply grateful. This is their moment.

Daily Sun: Finally, what is next for SuperGolf, and what would you say to someone watching who is curious but has never tried golf?

Rezaur Rahman Khan: I would simply say: come and see for yourself.
