Bangladesh will host the Blind Cricket Asia Cup for the first time, with the six-day tournament scheduled to take place at Anvir Cricket Stadium, ABG Sports City, from 15 to 20 November.

Organised by the Bangladesh Blind Cricket Council (BBCC), an affiliate of World Blind Cricket Ltd (WBC), the five-nation competition will feature hosts Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. Preparations are already under way for the landmark event.

The tournament will provide Bangladesh with another opportunity to showcase their sporting capabilities on the international stage.

Safwan Bashundhara Global (SBG) has come on board as the title sponsor, while T Sports, the country’s only sports-based television channel, will serve as the media partner.

SBG said it was proud to support the inaugural Blind Cricket Asia Cup in Bangladesh, expressing hope that the international event would create greater opportunities for visually impaired athletes and bring their talent and achievements to a wider audience.

Beyond providing blind cricketers with a platform to compete at the international level, the organisers aim to use sport to promote friendship, equality and stronger ties among participating nations.

Hosting the competition for the first time marks a significant milestone for blind cricket in Bangladesh. The event is also expected to strengthen camaraderie, goodwill and sporting unity across Asia.
