Pakistan will head into their opening match of the SAFF Championship 2026 against arch-rivals India without a training session in Dhaka after their luggage remained stuck at Qatar airport.
The Pakistan team arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday morning, but their preparations suffered a major setback as they could not take the field for their scheduled training session on the eve of Thursday's much-anticipated clash.
The team were scheduled to train on Wednesday, but the session was cancelled around an hour before it was due to begin as their luggage had yet to arrive from Qatar. As a result, Pakistan were unable to complete their final preparations ahead of the crucial encounter.
The situation leaves Pakistan with little time to adjust before taking on India, who, meanwhile, completed their scheduled training session on Wednesday ahead of the opening fixture.
With both sides set to meet on Thursday at 3:30 PM (BDT) the contrasting preparations could become an important talking point ahead of one of the most anticipated clashes of the tournament.
Pakistan will now have to take on their arch-rivals without having trained in Dhaka, while India will enter the contest having completed their final training session.
