West Indies captain Roston Chase hailed Jomel Warrican as a “good craftsman” after the left-arm spinner played a leading role in their eight-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the first Test in Mirpur.
Warrican claimed nine wickets in the match to earn the Player-of-the-Match award, as West Indies' spinners dominated their Bangladesh counterparts, taking 16 wickets compared to the hosts' eight.
“He's a good craftsman. He's been improving and anytime he gets a chance, he always delivers,” Chase said, praising his long-time teammate for leading the spin attack and giving the team confidence.
Chase also credited the pace bowlers for maintaining pressure through disciplined lines and lengths. He felt that taking four quick wickets in Bangladesh's second innings proved crucial in turning the match in their favour.

He further praised Brandon King for his unbeaten 81 during the chase of 170, while defending the decision to include debutant Joshua Bishop ahead of senior pacer Kemar Roach, saying the pitch conditions favoured spin.
