Neon’s 55 lights up NSU

North South University (NSU) beat United International University (UIU) by 20 runs in the ABG University Cup 2026 at Anvir Cricket Stadium in Bashundhara on Tuesday.

Batting first after UIU won the toss and elected to field, NSU posted 189-9 in their 20 overs, with Neon smashing a 25-ball 55. UIU managed 169-7 in reply, falling short of their 190-run target despite a brisk 46 from Shehab.

Neon struck five fours and five sixes in his explosive innings. Shabab also made a valuable contribution, scoring 32 off 19 balls, while Wasik added 31 off 21 deliveries.

Mustafiz and Tushar claimed two wickets each for UIU, while Shezan and Ehsan took one apiece.

Chasing 190, UIU fought hard but could not maintain the required scoring rate. Shehab top-scored with 46 off just 21 balls, hitting eight fours and a six. Murad remained unbeaten on 34, while Sayem contributed 26, but their efforts were not enough to secure victory.

Abhishek led NSU’s bowling attack, taking three wickets for 33 runs in his four overs. Neon claimed two wickets and Shabab took one to help NSU seal the 20-run victory.

Neon was named Player of the Match for his all-round contribution.
