Bangladesh have set their sights on double gold after shooting their way into two finals at the Asia Cup Archery in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq. The national archers will battle for the top prize in both the recurve men's team and compound women's team events, facing Kazakhstan in both title clashes.

In the six-nation recurve men's team event, the Bangladesh trio of Abdur Rahman Alif, Sagor Islam, and Rafi Abdullah earned a bye directly into the semi-finals. They made easy work of Uzbekistan, sweeping the match with a flawless 6-0 set points victory. They will now meet Kazakhstan, who booked their spot by beating hosts Iraq 6-2 in the other semi-final. The recurve men's final is scheduled for 29 October.

Meanwhile, the compound women's team event featured just four countries, meaning the action kicked off straight from the semi-final stage. The Bangladesh side, made up of Bonna Akter, Sreeporna Biswas, and Kulsum Akter Moni, controlled their match against Sri Lanka from start to finish. They stayed ahead in every single set to seal a comfortable 233-219 victory.

Their final opponents, Kazakhstan, had to survive a thriller against Iraq to reach the gold medal match. The two teams were locked at 217-217 after four tight sets, but Kazakhstan held their nerve to edge out the hosts 29-27 in the tie-break. The compound women's final will take place on 28 October.
