Bangladesh’s international umpires Masudur Rahman Mukul and Gazi Sohel will officiate in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) T20 tournament after receiving no-objection certificates (NOCs) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
The tournament is scheduled to begin in Kathmandu on 26 October, giving the two International Cricket Council (ICC) panel umpires another opportunity to showcase their experience in overseas franchise cricket.
Mukul, 51, has officiated as an on-field and television umpire in 42 one-day internationals and 75 T20 internationals. His domestic record includes 196 List A matches and 234 T20 fixtures.
Sohel, 47, has officiated in four Tests, 27 ODIs and 70 T20 internationals. He has also handled 169 List A matches and 231 T20 games in domestic cricket.
Both officials have been regular fixtures in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the country’s premier franchise competition, since its inception, serving as on-field and television umpires.
Their appointments in Nepal will provide another platform for the experienced Bangladesh officials to contribute to a major franchise T20 competition beyond their home country.
