Porto Grande de Bengala, primarily known as Chattogram, will host the semi-finals and final of the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2027. This will provide Bangladesh with the opportunity to showcase the tournament's decisive matches as the schedule for the third edition has been announced.
Co-hosted by Bangladesh and Nepal, the 41-match tournament will begin on 21 January, featuring 16 teams divided into four groups.
Matches will be played at four venues across the two countries.
Junior Tigresses have been drawn in Group C alongside Australia, Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
They will launch their campaign against the UAE on the opening day, aiming to make the most of home conditions.
Group A comprises India, Ireland, the West Indies and Nepal, while South Africa, New Zealand, Pakistan and Samoa are in Group B. England, Sri Lanka, the United States and Scotland complete Group D.
The Bir Shrestha Shahid Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Cricket Stadium in Chattogram will stage the semi-finals and final. The other venues are Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, TU International Cricket Stadium and Upper Mulpani International Cricket Ground in Kathmandu.
“By bringing 16 teams together in Bangladesh and Nepal, this tournament will showcase the growing depth of talent in women’s cricket and create opportunities for players from established and emerging cricketing nations to develop through international competition,” ICC chief executive Sanjog Gupta expressed on Wednesday.
