Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials are optimistic that Litton Das will recover in time to feature in the upcoming Test series against the West Indies after his hip joint scan revealed no significant concerns.

The Bangladesh white-ball captain, who missed the ongoing ODI tri-series involving Afghanistan and Zimbabwe due to discomfort in his hip joint, visited the BCB medical team on Monday for an assessment.

A BCB official confirmed that the wicketkeeper-batter would undergo light physiotherapy over the next two days before the medical team evaluates his condition.

Litton sustained the injury while scoring a century in the second innings of Bangladesh's match against Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi. He has not batted since picking up the problem.

The West Indies team arrived in Dhaka on Sunday for their two-match Test tour of Bangladesh.

The series will begin in Dhaka on 28 October, with the second Test scheduled to take place in Sylhet. Litton's participation remains uncertain as he continues his recovery.
